Why buy a chimney liner from Luce's Chimney?
Expert Measure of Your New Chimney Flue Liner
The liner of the chimney is probably the least glamorous part of a fireplace and chimney, but it is one of the most important to have functioning correctly. Many times, the chimney flue liner is overlooked to a homeowners peril :(
One of the reasons to buy a chimney liner and have it professionally installed by our company is "the fit". We will correctly measure your new liner, which many times can be sized incorrectly if you are not professionally certified and a highly skilled chimney technician.
A poor fitting chimney liner can cause a massive buildup of creosote overtime, damaging your chimney structure and possibly even causing the production of carbon monoxide in your home if your chimney liner does not have the correct fit. A chimney liner’s function is to contain the hot gases and combustibles, keeping them safely away from the flammable structures in your home. Without a properly fitting and functioning flue liner, these gases can contain CO2, which can leak into the home without anyone knowing. Don't take that risk for your family.
We'll make sure your chimney liner is perfectly fit, so the fireplace or heating stove will work the way it was designed to function. And, we will provide the proper chimney draft, so that gases exit the home. If you are currently having draft issues when starting or maintaining your fire, this could be a potential reason you have a poorly fitting chimney liner.

Stainless Steel Chimney Liner Sales, Installation, Relining and Repair
Lifetime Warranties on all our Stainless Steel Chimney Liners
A stainless steel chimney liner will make your chimney operate more effectively and help protect your family from the risk of fire or exposure to dangerous gases. Because many older homes do not have liners in their chimneys, a stainless steel liner can fit inside an existing chimney to protect the bricks and mortar from soot and hot gases.
When you burn a fire in your home, hot, acidic gases are produced. These gases can get inside the mortar joints of your chimney and break down the material that binds them together. When the mortar in your chimney starts to crack and create gaps, hot gases can escape into the walls of your home. A stainless steel chimney liner protects your bricks and mortar from these gases.
The liner will also help prevent the buildup of creosote, a highly flammable substance that builds up from burning wood and other combustibles. Creosote is also corrosive, so it’s important that it be cleaned off regularly and not allowed to build up, causing damage to chimney structures and putting your home at a higher risk for a chimney fire.

Clay Chimney Liner Relining and Repair
Clay tiles inexpensive and perform quite well for open fireplace chimneys that are properly maintained. Today, we install only stainless steel chimney liners for all the reasons mentioned above.
Clay Chimney liners are just that, made out of clay and are easily breakable. Clay also cannot rapidly absorb and evenly distribute heat during the rapid temperature rise that occurs during a chimney fire. This uneven heating produces an unequal expansion which in turn causes the flue tiles to crack and split apart. Clay chimney liners can shatter quickly and must be repaired before use if they are cracked or broken.
Gas fireplaces also do not work well with a clay chimney liner. Most commonly, we reline clay chimney liners with stainless steel for safety and higher performance for the homeowner. If you have a ceramic or clay liner, we will need to do a thorough video inspection to see the stage of potential damage to make further chimney repair suggestions. This might include a complete tear our or hopefully just relining your chimney using a stainless steel chimney liner.
